ELECTROMAGNETIC PUMPS FOR LIQUID METALS.

Electromagnetic pumps for liquid metals

The electromagnetic pumps (EMP) are designed to pump sodium and other molten metals with a temperature of up to 550C. They are used in nuclear power industry and in the metallurgical and chemical branches of industry.

EMP consists of an inductor and a duct. The inductor is provided with a laminated magnetic circuit and a three-phase current winding manufactured of heat-resistant wire. The pump duct is made of stainless steel.

The induction type EMP are divided into the annular linear induction pumps (ALIP), helical induction pumps (HIP) and flat linear induction pumps (FLIP) according to the type of the duct.

At a molten metal temperature up to 350C the pumps are cooled naturally and at the temperature exceeding 350C they are cooled indirectly by water.

EMP are produced according to an individual order.
